What a difference a year makes
Last October, everyone seemed to get a big kick out of our "Big Girl Bed" saga. At that time, we quickly learned that we had tried to convert Elizabeth to a Big Girl Bed before she was ready, and we banished it to the attic until a much later date. Well, we're happy to report that the later date came about the day before Thanksgiving. After Elizabeth had been consistently asking to sleep in a Big Girl Bed for about a week, we pulled it out of the attic again. We talked to her a lot about how she needed to stay in bed if she slept in it, put on pretty new sheets, and she climbed right in. We watched in amazement as she switched over to it without missing a beat - in fact, she hasn't missed a nap or night in it since it came out. And, she still hasn't ever gotten out of bed by herself. She actually sits there after she wakes up, just waiting for us to come in and get her. We are still amazed at how easy the transition was. And, we're actually considering taking her crib down now - since we've left it up this entire time, just in case the Big Girl Bed mission had to be aborted yet again.
Poor Jonathan has really been slammed with a bunch of homework this last week. I think his teachers are trying to make up for all of last year, when I don't think he had to bring homework home more than a total of 3 nights. The other night, when Jonathan was doing his math homework, Elizabeth pulled out a book so she could read with him:
Not much else going on here, other than school, work, and keeping up with the house. We've all ended up with nasty cold/coughs that we're hoping clear up soon - especially since we leave for our CRUISE in 2 weeks!
Here are a few more random photos for you.

Elizabeth hugging her Daddy:
David is gone this weekend visiting his family in Mississippi, and Elizabeth really misses her Daddy. Tonight, when we were driving, I noticed she was stretching her hand out to the window. When I asked her what she was doing she said she was trying to reach her Daddy who was very far away. Awwwwww.....

Congrats on making it to Big Girl Bed status! I notice that she's not always wearing pink in the pictures any more. Has she outgrown that fixation?
No, pink is still definitely her favorite. We just got smarter and stopped buying as much of it, so she doesn't always have the choice.
